Mr. Motivator says, "Choose Your SmartPhone"!!!
Do you know that smartphones can make us smarter? Therefore it is vital that we learn as much as we can about the smartphone selection process. If you look around you will observe that there are lots of people, from students, soccer moms, pastors, construction workers, entertainers, corporate executives, educators, etc that are using smartphones. Even though the demand is great, they have difficulty knowing how to choose the right phone. The good news is that doing your homework before you make a purchase can help you find the smartphone that best meet your needs. Here are some helpful hints:
1. Select a phone that fits. The size of the mobile device and how it feels in your hand is important.
2. Identify your user profile. Verify your ability to talk, text, and check your e-mail.
Your smartphone purchase should enable you to connect with social networking and other moneymaking offers. Today's technology can rock your world.

Management 101
From sports I learned how to get a group of people to work together. As a quarterback, I usually was the organizer. I would put a disparate group together and try to get them to work down the same path. I had to understand people's motivations, their weak and strong points more than anything. And that's Management 101 - knowing how to organize people, how to manage people and motivate them, how to get people to work toward a common goal of winning. In advertising, you take fifty, sixty, however many people are working on the pitch, and set a goal of getting everybody to be their best and to come together to work as one. It's very similar in sports.
I would have been a good coach. That's what you are in business, at the end of the day. If you run your business, you're a coach. I'd have been a better coach than an athlete. I know how to motivate and, hopefully, inspire people. I think I'd be a very good play caller, in fact. I'm just a good strategist. That's what running a business is.
Business is no different from sports. Businesses are people, and the most successful businesses find the best talent that works together well. They don't have a star system. I never wanted one prima donna, one creative superstar, in the agency. You want people to work well together. It's so easy for me to see why some sports teams don't make it. The winning teams have the right pieces that come together. It's that simple. You can see it. I never understand how guys putting professional teams together don't understand that. You can't just put a bunch of stats together. It's very clear. And it's no different in a work environment. Over the years, I've hired one or two people who turned out to be a mistake, people who did not foster that team spirit. It was much more about them as individuals. They didn't work out. I've learned from those mistakes.

The Contrasting Skills
The Contrasting Skills
Everything I would learn and need today in business, I did on the field or court. Sports taught me five key things. Everybody is going to tell you sports teach you discipline, teamwork, and leadership, and I agree. But it's what I see as the contrasting skills that are important.
First, you need to learn how to lead and follow, and know when each is appropriate. There are many times you're called upon as a leader. Some of us do it naturally, some of us don't. But you need to know when to lead and when to follow. Sports teach you that.
Second, you need to learn to both compete and collaborate. You've got to be mentally tough to compete and win, but you have to have the ability to work as part of a team. You have to collaborate with other people because you can never get it done by yourself. Ever. That's important, as we discover later in life.
Third, in sports, because so much is done in day-to-day practice, you have to know about execution. You do something well because you've practiced it fifteen hundred times before you ever get on the field or on the court. But execution isn't enough. You also have to be strong at strategy. When do you employ which plays? And what's the plan to beat this team? Strategy and executioon are core contrasts that you learn in sports.
Next, you learn how to win and how to lose. You don't ever like losing, but you learn from it. You're going to do both in life, and so you need the ability to manage both, well and productively.
The final one is balancing confidence and humility. You have to be ultimately confident when you go out there. Confidence wins, always. That's one of the things Jack Welch taught us at General Electric. But that confidence has to be laced with enough humility, because there are others out there that could beat you if you're not on your game, and others that are better at certain areas. And if you don't compensate for their strengths, you're not going to win.
Every one of those five core contrasts can be used to overcome adversity and make you stronger and victorious. You do them naturally in sports, where they are critical, and then you learn to apply them in the business world.

Friend
What would we do without our women friends? I can't imagine how we could survive without the hugs and humor, the closeness and kleenex that our female friendships provide. Men often envy the importance that friends play in our lives - and they should. It's a special relationship women share that most men seem to have trouble achieving. For all the talk about male bonding, I think a lot of men find friendship with a woman easier than friendship with another man, I know my husband does. It's interesting how in each stage of life new female friends emerge, and how they stay friends forever. Women rely on friends. If you're lucky like me, you have a built-in best friend called a husband, but I will always need my female friends, and I think most women do. We simply can't exist without the connections to other women. That's where we draw sustenance and find safety. We can count on our women friends when we need a good laugh or a good cry.
Women have always known this, as they found ways to cover vast distances in order to congregate - to share their tasks with other women on the promise of efficiency, but in fact, because we've known through the centuries that when we're together we have more fun Author Cokie Roberts

Wings and Weights
Applying the 'wings and weights' concept to grief, sometimes grievers need to cut the cord, at least for a time, and release particular people or habits as they focus on mere survival. The separation may or may not be forever - but at least for now, it may be necessary for the griever's own mental health and ability to cope. If weights are bringing us down and hindering our situations instead of helping, we need to let go, in a gentle, loving way. Conversely, some people hold us up in remarkable ways - and if ever there is a time we need wings, it's now. Make every effort to be around the people who lift you up. Keep them close. These unforgettable people will help you get through the difficult times. Especially right now, do what is necessary to take care of you. Think about your relationships. Think about the people you know. Think about your interests and activities. Be aware, and make healthy choices in light of your well-being.
We remember the people who laugh with us.
And we especially remember the people who cry with us.
But more than ever...
We remember the people who pray with us.

Grief is Important
Grief is the toughest pain we have to deal with. It is not the worst human experience, because it leads to resolution, but it is the most difficult for us to enter into voluntarily, which is the only way to get into it. The rest of our human experiences just happens "to us." Hurt, injury, anxiety, alienation, and failure all break through, and we suffer. Grief does not "break through." It is something we enter into.
Author Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend
How People Grow
...Grief is the one that heals all the others. It is the most important pain there is...It heals. It restores. It changes things that have gone bad. Moreover, it is the only place where we get comforted when things have gone wrong....What is so special about grief? Why is it the "pain that heals"? Because grief is God's way of our getting finished with the bad stuff of life. It is the process by which we "get over it," by which we "let it go"... The soul is designed to finish things. It is designed to grieve...Cry it out, and it will get out. It will be over. Author Judy Brizendine

Laughter's Benefits Part II
In addition to the healing benefits of laughter, research has shown that the combination of humor along with modern medical treatment increases positive outcomes. Various sources have reported the average adult generally laughs a fraction of the amount the average child laughs (fifteen-seventeen times per day for adults versus 300-400 times per day for children). So considering laughter's miracle benefits, adults may want to try a little harder to laugh more! Author Dr. William F. Fry, Jr.
Laughter's Benefits
Laughter is a "healing" escape. Since its benefits are so great, think about programming laughter into your life... intentionally! Whatever you have to do to make it happen, be certain to include laughter as a regular part of your life. Let go of guilty thoughts. It's okay to laugh. More than okay, it will boost your healing. You need moments - and intervals - of relief from your pain. Author Dr. Will F. Fry, Jr.

Is there a double standard in the 21st century?
Even though we are living in the 21st century, there are still signs of the rule of double standard. In the society that we are living in there are two sets of rules of the two sets of people. The haves and the have nots. That's why there is such a controversy with the presidential election. This is a history making event, which is not equalled before and after.

Think Before You Invest
There are numerous stories told about some individuals saving their money for 10, 15, and 20 years losing it in some grand scheme perpetuated by some unscrupulous person, or even some well meaning individual. They will risk their life savings and work on a promise to multiply investments to a point that guarantees wealth. Never invest in a highly suspect venture, or with an individual or institution with no track record of being successful in that area. When in doubt, seek professional advice from those with the proper credentials.
Obviously, this strategy dictates that you should insure your assets. More small fortunes are lost from people putting money in unsound investments that promise "chance of a lifetime returns." That's because human nature contains a little greed, and it's easy for someone to convince us that he can take our $10,000 and turn it into 10 times, or 15 times, what it is worth.
If you are not careful, your savings can be lost. Not only will you not benefit from the interest or income from your principal, but once guided by greed, it's a strong possibility that the principal will be lost too, and you'll have to start over with few or no working years remaining.
Once your assets are lost, starting over can be traumatic and extremely painful, not to mention the economic and physical difficulties.
Share your wealth and knowledge to help others that are in need. There are those who are hungry, sick, or just need a helping hand. This is important because the schools, hospitals, and various institutions that are designed to help people never have enough money. It is our responsibility to pay into those reputable institutions. From the churches to the hospitals, there are numerous institutions and individuals that need our help.
