Wings and Weights

Applying the 'wings and weights' concept to grief, sometimes grievers need to cut the cord, at least for a time, and release particular people or habits as they focus on mere survival.  The separation may or may not be forever - but at least for now, it may be necessary for the griever's own mental health and ability to cope.  If weights are bringing us down and hindering our situations instead of helping, we need to let go, in a gentle, loving way. Conversely, some people hold us up in remarkable ways - and if ever there is a time we need wings, it's now.  Make every effort to be around the people who lift you up.  Keep them close.  These unforgettable people will help you get through the difficult times. Especially right now, do what is necessary to take care of you.  Think about your relationships.  Think about the people you know.  Think about your interests and activities.  Be aware, and make healthy choices in light of your well-being.

We remember the people who laugh with us.
And we especially remember the people who cry with us.
But more than ever...
We remember the people who pray with us.
