The World of Professional Speaking

Being on the rope is everything.  All is waiting to perform.  - Karl Wallenda, circus tightrope performer
Professional speakers feel the same way about the thrilling business of appearing before audiences and delivering useful information in an entertaining and beneficial way.  Being before the audience - speaking is everything.  All else is waiting (and preparing) to speak. You, too, can follow this powerful calling.  You can educate, inspire, and lead people to take action and make important changes in their lives.  By becoming a professional speaker, you can prosper at levels you may never have dreamed were possible in your life.
Based on your own ever-growing body of knowledge you can also write books, create other useful products, become a professional consultant, and add many more valuable "accessories" to your speaking career.  If you have the drive and dream and can follow our plan, you literally can Speak and Grow Rich.
Speaking - speaking well - is like a great dance involving your audiences, your customers and the great minds of all the ages.  You coordinate the many intricate steps of this dance:  the gathering of knowledge, the marketing, learning to better touch hearts and minds.  As you take each step, "Speak and Grow Rich" will act as your instruction manual, your source of information, and your inspiration.
At first you will struggle to hear the music that is meant for you.  Soon, you will discover your market and your strengths; then you will enter the dance with confidence! Author: Dottie and Lilly Walters

Friend

What would we do without our women friends?  I can't imagine how we could survive without the hugs and humor, the closeness and kleenex that our female friendships provide.  Men often envy the importance that friends play  in our lives - and they should.  It's a special relationship women share that most men seem to have trouble achieving.  For all the talk about male bonding, I think a lot of men find friendship with a woman easier than friendship with another man, I know my husband does. It's interesting how in each stage of life new female friends emerge, and how they stay friends forever. Women rely on friends.  If you're lucky like me, you have a built-in best friend called a husband, but I will always need my female friends, and I think most women do.  We simply can't exist without the connections to other women.  That's where we draw sustenance and find safety.  We can count on our women friends when we need a good laugh or a good cry.
Women have always known this, as they found ways to cover vast distances in order to congregate - to share their tasks with other women on the promise of  efficiency, but in fact, because we've known through the centuries that when we're together we have more fun                                                                                                                            Author Cokie Roberts

A Woman's Place

"A woman's place is in the house ... and in the Senate, " the T-shirts and buttons proclaim at women's political events.  "A Woman's Place Is in Uniform," trumpets a book about women in the military.  "A woman's place is at the typewriter," declared Fortune magazine back in 1935.  That was convenient for the economy and so it was decreed. A few years later a woman's place was in the factory or in the nursing corps because that was essential for the war effort.  Then a woman's place was in the home.  And now?  A woman's place is anywhere she wants to be. So what is a woman's place?  For most women, it's many places, different places at different times.  For almost all women, it's the place of nurture, whether for the planet or one small creature on it. We learned from our mothers, both in word and in deed, we teach it to our daughters in the knowledge that they must carry on the culture and care for it.  Even as they go forward into the next millennium, knowing things we never knew, they will be connected back to those women in Marathon, Greece.  From that continuity they will derive the strength to make their place wherever they think it should be.   Author Cokie Roberts

Targeting Marketable Topics and Titles

Speakers are actually in the information business.  As you develop your subject, study it, write articles about it, and come to new conclusions, your body of knowledge becomes more valuable and salable in many other formats.  You can create videos, audio albums, workbooks, consulting sessions, CD ROMs, training materials, reports, calendars, posters, T-shirts, hats and even toys based on your expertise.  These products are the valuable offshoots of the body of knowledge in your speeches.  They not only add significantly to your speaker's income, but are also reminders that leave a trail that prospects follow back to you. Sales of speaker products can do more than boost your level of income.  Creating excellent products also add credibility and prestige to your position as an expert.  You're much easier to publicize when you are the author of professional products. Product is cited over and over by every successful speaker we know as one of the best marketing tools and sources of income for your speaking career.Studies that people only absorb and remember ten percent of most presentations.  We learn best through repetition.  Products provide that repetition and help attendees retain the knowledge you give them.  They can continue learning from and enjoy your expertise - at work, at home, while driving in their cars, as they jog, etc.
